h-index >= 5 or
What is H-index ?
The h-index is a metric used to measure the productivity and citation impact of the publications of a scientist or scholar. It is based on the set of the researcher's most cited papers and the number of citations they have received in other publications.
How is the H-Index Calculated ?
Compile a List of Publications: Collect all the published papers of the researcher in question.
Count Citations: Determine the number of citations each paper has received.
Order Publications: Arrange the papers in descending order based on the number of citations.
Identify the h-index: The h-index is the highest number ( h ) such that the researcher has ( h ) papers, each of which has been cited at least ( h ) times.
Example:
Suppose a researcher has the following citation counts for their papers: 10, 8, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Step 1: Arrange the citation counts in descending order: 10, 8, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Step 2: Find the point where the number of papers (( h )) is equal to or greater than the number of citations.
Paper 1 has 10 citations
Paper 2 has 8 citations
Paper 3 has 5 citations
Paper 4 has 4 citations
Paper 5 has 3 citations
Here, the h-index is 4 because there are 4 papers with at least 4 citations each. The next paper has only 3 citations, which is less than 5, so the h-index cannot be 5.
- Publication in ML/AI or allied journals with IF > 2.5, or
